The Lady Indians are still looking for their first win after dropping games to Madison and Marsh Valley last week. Saturday, March 30 Preston hosts a doubleheader with Skyline beginning at 11 a.m. and travels to Canyon Ridge in Twin Falls on Tuesday, April 2 for a 3:30 p.m. game.
At Marsh Valley on March 20, the Indians trailed by one at the top of the second inning where they tied it but allowed three runs in the bottom of the inning. In the top of the fourth Preston plated two runs to tie the game 4-4. They went up one in the top of the fifth but couldn’t hold off the Eagle who scored twice in the bottom of the inning. Neither team scored in the final two frames resulting in a 4-6 loss for the Indians.
Averie Madsen tripled, singled and crossed home plate twice for Preston, which got a double from Raegan Hansen and one hit and a pair of RBIs from Addey Carter.
Hansen went the circle in the circle for Preston and only gave up three earned runs.
On March 19 the Indians hosted a doubleheader with Madison. They could not get their bats going in the opener and lost 3-21 in five innings. They scored in the first, third and fifth innings with runs from Averie Madsen, Carly Madsen and Carter.
Hansen pitched a complete game and struck out three.
Preston fared much better in the nightcap where they held the Bobcats to one run until the sixth inning. Tied 1-1 at the top of the sixth Preston allowed two runs but got one back inthe bottom of the inning to make it 2-3. Madison plated three more in the top of the seventh and Preston could not answer.
Maysa Jones went the distance in the circle and struck out five in the 2-6 loss.
