SweetLux Aesthetics opened in Preston on 78 S. State Street in April next to the Patiño Store. Dulce Patiño-Owen and Lorena Patiño are the owners of the new business which is a booth rent salon with space for 8-10.
“We are a full service beauty bar, offering anything from hair, nails, facials, tanning, lashes, waxing, to teeth whitening and soon we will also offer spray tans and piercings,” said Patiño-Owen.
The business came about because Dulce Patiño-Owen wanted to “create a space where women could share their love for both beauty and business.”
An open house with giveaways, discounts, raffles and the ribbon cutting was held April 12. The Patiño Store provided authentic Mexican tacos to all who stopped by.
“We had a lot of family and friends who came to support,” said owner Dulce Patiño-Owen. “We also had a large number of the Hispanic community attend.”
Being bilingual, the business hopes to appeal to more members of the community.
“Our goal is to help everyone feel welcome and comfortable during their service. Having a salon where we speak both English and Spanish will hopefully help keep more of our locals shopping local,” said Patiño-Owen.
SweetLux Aesthetics still has some booths open which they hope fill soon to be able to offer more beauty services to the people of Preston.
